KU Alumni Association launches KU Cares Month of Service

Tue, 10/31/2017

LAWRENCE — The KU Alumni Association has launched a new campaign that encourages Jayhawks nationwide to give back to their communities during the month of November. KU Cares Month of Service provides alumni with opportunities to volunteer at organized philanthropic events in their hometowns, including blood drives, nonperishable food collections and meal preparations for the homeless.

In addition, the Alumni Association will donate a portion of membership dues in November to the Wounded Warrior Scholarship Fund, which offers financial assistance to qualified military service members, veterans, primary caregivers, and surviving spouses or children who want to attend KU.

“Volunteerism is something that KU alumni are passionate about and engaged in across the country,” says Danny Woods, the Alumni Association’s assistant director of legacy relations & alumni programs. “KU Cares Month of Service just amplifies what they’re already doing.”
