KU Libraries open Software Carpentry workshop registration

LAWRENCE — KU Libraries, along with key partners, will host a Software Carpentry workshop. Software Carpentry aims to help University of Kansas researchers work more efficiently by teaching basic research computing skills. The workshop will take place Aug. 20-21 in 3152 Learned.

In this two-day, hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to automate tasks using the Unix shell, how to track and share work using version control and how to write software in R that is readable, reusable and reliable.

To register, please visit lib.ku.edu/software-carpentry. The Software Carpentry workshop is open to faculty, staff and students across disciplines. No prior experience is necessary.

The event is held in partnership with the KU Office of Research, KU Information Technology and KanREN, which will sponsor full breaks each day.

Additional questions may be addressed to Jamene Brooks-Kieffer at jamenebk@ku.edu.
