KU architecture students awarded AIA-St. Louis scholarships


LAWRENCE — Eight University of Kansas School of Architecture & Design students have received scholarships from the American Institute of Architects’ St. Louis chapter.

Marvin Hall, School of Architecture & Design, University of Kansas.These awards for the 2021-2022 school year range from $2,000 to $6,000. 

Two KU students will receive scholarships from AIA-St. Louis Ralph Ranft fund: Aaron Michalicek, from St. Louis, and Emma VandeWater from Wildwood, Missouri.  

Christian Hunn, from Lake St. Louis, Missouri, will receive a scholarship from the AIA-St. Louis Kenneth Wischmeyer fund.

AIA St. Louis Chapter Scholarships will be given to the following students:

  • Celine Khashram, Valley Park, Missouri
  • Jack Heller, St. Louis 
  • Lydia Juengling, Marthasville, Missouri
  • Julianna Ribble, St. Louis 
  • Erica Villamayor, Creve Coeur, Missouri. 

The AIA St. Louis Scholarship Fund assists students from the greater St. Louis region enrolled in accredited programs by the National Architecture Accrediting Board. The AIA St. Louis Scholarship Fund is one of the largest architectural scholarship programs in the country, according the AIA.
