Folk musicians Ellis Paul, Sky Smeed will perform at 'Trail Mix' 25th Anniversary Concert

LAWRENCE – Hit the trail and head to Maceli’s for the “Trail Mix” 25th Anniversary Concert featuring Ellis Paul and Sky Smeed at 7:30 p.m. March 16. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Headliner Ellis Paul has been a staple in the folk music community for years, his work spanning 20 studio albums. His newest release, “The Storyteller’s Suitcase,” is coming out in 2019.

Paul grew up on his family’s potato farm in Fort Kent, Maine, near the Canadian border. He worked hard, threw himself into every activity he could and traveled the U.S. Later these adventures would be recreated through Paul’s beautifully artistic and relatable storytelling songs.

Opening for Paul is local act Sky Smeed. He is originally from outside of Chanute but later moved to Lawrence while recording his 2017 album, “Lunker Bass.” Smeed tells tales of childhood experiences, his adventures on the road and, like any good folk album, stories of love and love lost. Sky has released six full-length studio albums and continues to entertain with well-thought-out lines and catchy quips.

General admission tickets are available through Maceli’s website at macelis.com. Tickets are $25, and a small service charge may be added. If available, tickets can be purchased at the door with cash or credit card. Maceli’s will offer drinks and appetizers for purchase.
