KU Endowment elects two new trustees

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas alumni Scott Coons, of Lawrence; and Brad Korell, of Austin, Texas, were elected trustees of KU Endowment at today’s annual meeting of the association’s Board of Trustees.

Scott Coons earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from KU in 1991. His wife, Betsy, earned a bachelor’s degree from KU in 1994. Scott is president and CEO of Perceptive Software, which has its headquarters in Shawnee. In 2006, he was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and a Computerworld Honors Program Laureate. Scott is a member of the KU School of Engineering Advisory Board and of the KU School of Business Board of Advisors, and a member of the Far Above: The Campaign for Kansas committee for the School of Engineering.

Brad Korell earned a law degree from KU in 1997 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 1994. He is the managing partner at Korell & Frohlin. He has served as a member of the KU Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors and participated in a wide range of KU Alumni’s programs. He is a current member of the KU School of Law Alumni Board of Governors, and he previously served on the Kansas Union Memorial Corporation Board of Directors.

KU Endowment is the independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fundraising and fund-management organization for KU. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment was the first foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university.
