Media advisory: News conference added to Colombian president's visit to KU

LAWRENCE — Juan Manuel Santos, president of the Republic of Colombia, will speak to news media during his visit to the University of Kansas, his alma mater, Sept. 24.

When: Please arrive no later than 11:20 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. news conference with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos. The news conference is at the Lied Center of Kansas.

Credentialing: All members of the media wishing to attend the news conference and/or the afternoon program at the Dole Institute of Politics will need official credentials issued by KU News Service.

To apply for media credentials, submit the following information:

1. Full name (first, middle, last)

2. Name of media organization and contact phone number

3. Indicate one of the following:

____ reporter

____ photographer (print or video)

____ technical crew

4. Email address

Send information to Jill Jess by noon Friday, Sept. 21.

Credentials must be applied for in advance of the event. They will be available for pick up at the news conference, but no one will be admitted who did not apply in advance. Anyone not attending the news conference can pick up credentials at the Wesley Building, 1314 Jayhawk Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of the event. None will be issued at the door of the Dole Institute.

Credentialed media will be allowed into the Dole Institute of Politics at 12:50 p.m. Doors open to the general public at 1 p.m.
