Finance professor to give talk on banking
LAWRENCE—Robert DeYoung, finance professor at the University of Kansas School of Business and Capitol Federal Professor in Financial Markets and Institutions, will present “How Big Should Your Bank Be?” at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at the BEST Conference Center in Overland Park.
DeYoung is a former official at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C.
He is president of the Southern Finance Association and serves on the faculty of the Barcelona School of Banking.
DeYoung holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
His research efforts focus on an interdisciplinary analysis of financial institutions – bringing together academic research, government policy making and actual financial practice.
He speaks regularly at conferences in the U.S. and internationally, and his research and writings have appeared in The Journal of Financial Services Research, The Wall Street Journal and The Journal of International Money and Finance, among others.
DeYoung is co-editor of The Journal of Credit, Money and Banking.
The presentation is free, and aims to benefit managers, executives and academics in banking. Media are invited to attend.
