Graduate Studies seeks nominations of doctoral candidates


LAWRENCE — The Office of Graduate Studies invites the University of Kansas campus community to nominate doctoral candidates and recent doctoral graduates for the Argersinger Dissertation Award.

William Argersinger was the first vice chancellor for research and graduate studies and dean of the former graduate school. Through the support of William and Marnie Argersinger, and with the cooperation of KU Endowment Association, Graduate Studies offers the Argersinger Prize to celebrate outstanding doctoral dissertations completed at KU. 2019 marks the 40th year that this prize has been awarded at KU. 

Two Argersinger Dissertation Awards are given annually, each consisting of a $1,250 prize and certificate of recognition presented at the doctoral hooding ceremony in May. Nominations for the Argersinger awards will also be considered for nomination for the Council of Graduate Schools/Proquest Distinguished Dissertation Award.
