New artificial turf field for open for KU Recreation Services

LAWRENCE — Central Field is the new, outdoor artificial turf field available for intramurals, sports clubs, student groups and individuals at the University of Kansas community. It is located in the Central District, between the new Downs Hall and Stouffer Place Apartments.

This turf field is lined for flag football, women’s and men’s lacrosse, and soccer. There are also movable goals for lacrosse and soccer. An electronic scoreboard sits on the northeast corner of the field. Future additions for Central Field include restrooms next to the field.

Parking access for this field will be any Yellow Lot. Please read individual signs for times and restrictions.

Central Field is scheduled, managed, and maintained by KU Recreation Services. Groups looking to reserve or rent the field for an event can do so by contacting Bobby Arnold at or by calling 785-864-1372. Priority will be given to KU Recreation Services programming and events.
