KU Libraries to host presentations by US Holocaust Memorial Museum curator

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Libraries, in partnership with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, will host “Rescue the Evidence,” a presentation by Susan Goldstein Snyder.

Snyder is a curator at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, which houses an unparalleled repository of Holocaust evidence that documents the fate of victims. The artifacts in the museum's collection tell a powerful story about the history of the Holocaust. In her talk, Snyder will discuss how the efforts to find and acquire collections are more important than ever.

Snyder earned her bachelor’s degree of fine arts in 1987 from KU and earned a master’s degree in 1991 from the City College of City University of New York. Snyder joined the Holocaust Museum staff as a curator in 1991. She works to acquire collections, ensuring they are safeguarded and available for scholarship, research and exhibition.

The first presentation will be 6-7:30 p.m. April 17 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St. The second presentation will be 6-7:30 p.m. April 18 in the BEST Building on the KU Edwards Campus, Overland Park.

To RSVP, please contact Courtney Foat at libevents@ku.edu by Wednesday, April 11.
