KU Design Camp will offer high school students the ultimate design experience

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Department of Design’s annual KU Design Camp will offer high school students the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a design student at KU. The camp runs from June 11-17 on the Lawrence campus.

“Our campers get to take studio classes from some of KU’s best Department of Design faculty, work with current students and create projects that will enhance their portfolios,” said Andrea Herstowski, associate professor and department chair.

“We’re also bringing in inspirational speakers who are national leaders in the design industry,” she said.

Students can choose from studios in brand identity design, building a stand-up paddleboard, digital photography, large-format photography, antique photo processes, packaging design, publication design and 2-D animation fundamentals.
