School of Engineering will host upcoming career fair

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas engineering students have a chance to make connections for that dream job or ideal internship at two major events later this month.

The Fall Engineering & Computing Career Fair, set for noon-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, on the fifth and sixth floors of the Kansas Union, will host more than 160 companies and agencies. Students can gather information about a wide variety of companies, network with industry representatives and learn about potential internship and employment opportunities. Students should review the complete list of employers and study those of interest prior to arrival.

Students should dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their résumé to share with prospective employers. The career fair is open to all KU students, but employers will primarily focus on making connections with students in engineering, computing and the hard sciences.

The night before the career fair, IHAWKe Diversity & Women’s Programs and the Society of Women Engineers will host Evening with Industry. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday September 17, at the Burge Union. This networking event, open to all students, provides an exclusive opportunity to network and visit with employers. Pre-registration and payment must be made in advance. The cost is $15 per person.
