KU, FBI to host cybersecurity conference on Jan. 27


LAWRENCE — Members of the University of Kansas community and the public are invited to attend an upcoming cybersecurity conference that will seek to bring together experts in the field from industry, workforce and research.

The event, the FBI & KU Cybersecurity Conference: Bridging the Knowledge of Government, Industry Workforce and Research, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 27, 2023, at the Burge Union on the KU campus.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required to attend.

Conference highlights include:

  • Keynotes provided by the FBI and industry executive leadership.
  • Top KU researchers discussing the latest research on cybersecurity, including topics such as: resiliency, trust and disinformation, and Internet of Things.
  • Stakeholder panel: Hear from industry and government stakeholders on best practices and potential threats/attacks.
  • Workforce panel: growing talent to meet the growing technology/cybersecurity industry, including 14,000 open positions in Kansas and Missouri.
  • Student poster presentation highlighting current research.
  • Breakout sessions to stimulate discussion on topics of importance for industry, government and academics.
