Angela Karlin directing Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has a new leader to help students and families finance a KU education.

Angela Karlin began her duties as assistant vice provost and director of financial aid and scholarships June 5.

“Angela is a seasoned financial aid administrator who has risen through the ranks in both the private and public higher education sector,” said Vice Provost for Enrollment Matt Melvin. “Her familiarity with federal financial aid compliance regulations, expertise in utilizing aid from all sources to ensure the achievement of enrollment goals, and commitment to serving students and their families will be instrumental to KU as we continue to develop and revise strategies designed to secure KU’s preferred enrollment future.”

Karlin comes to KU from the University of Central Missouri, where she had been director of student financial assistance since 2012. She received a Master’s of Public Administration from KU in 2005.

Karlin succeeds Brenda Maigaard, who retired earlier this month.
