University community mourns death of Bill Nichols
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas community is grieving for the death of KU carpenter Bill Nichols, who died May 11 in Tonganoxie. He was 62.
“My thoughts are with the friends, family and university colleagues of Bill Nichols,” said Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little. “On behalf of the entire KU community, I offer my sincere condolences to them during this difficult time.”
Nichols was a senior carpenter in Facilities Services for nearly nine years.
A visitation will be Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St. Graveside inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, 517 E. 15th St.
