Nov. 22 deadline approaching for mandatory training on sexual violence, harassment

LAWRENCE — A reminder from the Office of Institutional Opportunity & Access: All University of Kansas faculty and staff must complete mandatory online training on sexual violence and sexual harassment by Friday, Nov. 22.

Faculty and staff were originally notified of this requirement via email Nov. 5-7, at which point they were provided login and password information. Employees can access the training online.

This year’s online training is titled “Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment: NOT ON OUR CAMPUS!” This training will only take about 15 minutes to complete.

“This mandatory training is part of an effort to create a safer and more informed campus community,” said Jane McQueeny, executive director of IOA. “It’s imperative that all faculty and staff complete this training, not only because it will improve our campus environment, but because we have federal compliance obligations that require every employee to complete the training.”

KU supervisors are aware of this initiative, and they’ve been asked to follow up with employees as necessary to ensure completion.

KU launched two trainings this year: one for students and the other for faculty and staff. Individuals who are both a student and an employee are required to take both trainings.

If you have any technical problems with the training, contact the Information Technology Customer Service Center at 785-864-8080 or itcsc@ku.edu.
