More Information

LAWRENCE — Bill Lacy, director of the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas, and Nancy Dwight, a 2012 Dole Fellow, are available to speak with media about the 2012 Republican National Convention. Lacy and Dwight, longtime veterans of Washington D.C., can speak about the happenings at the convention, their significance on this year's presidential race and the Republican platform.

Lacy was a campaign strategist before taking directorship of the Dole Institute in 2004. He has had a major role in seven presidential campaigns, including senior roles in Bob Dole's 1988 and 1996 presidential runs. In 2007, he took a leave of absence from the Institute to manage former Sen. Fred Thompson's campaign. Lacy also served as political director in the Reagan White House.

Dwight is chairman of Dwight Partners, a consulting agency specializing in strategic communications and organization building for corporate, political and nonprofit clients. She has nearly 40 years of experience in professional politics and nonprofit leadership. She was executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee in the 1980s and served on the Bush-Cheney steering committees in New Hampshire for the 2000 and 2004 campaigns and the Romney for President Committee in 2008.

The Republican National Convention is currently under way in Tampa, Fla. Delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories have gathered to officially make the Republican nomination for president.
