LAWRENCE — Steven Lee, professor of psychology and research in education at the University of Kansas, is available to speak with media about recognizing potential violent behavior in students. A shooting took place this morning at a high school in Chardon, Ohio.

The shooting was reported about 7:30 a.m. in Chardon, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. A student opened fire in a cafeteria, wounding several of his fellow students.

Lee teaches a course in recognizing potential violent behavior in students. As a professor of KU’s school psychology program, he led a program aimed at recognizing such behaviors and preventing violent incidents before they happen.
